Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 16, 2026
1. Overview
TiCu (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the TiCu mobile application and the ticu.app website (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.
By using TiCu, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
Account & profile information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any optional profile details you provide (name, style preferences, body measurements you choose to share).
Wardrobe & outfit photos. TiCu accesses your camera and photo library so you can add clothing items to your digital wardrobe and submit photos for virtual try-on. For example, you might photograph a jacket to add it to your closet, or upload a full-length photo of yourself to preview how an outfit looks on you. These photos are transmitted to third-party AI processing services to generate your try-on renders and outfit suggestions (see Section 4). They are not used for advertising or any other purpose.
Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the app — screens visited, features used, and session duration — to improve the Service.
Device information. We collect device type, operating system, and app version to provide support and maintain compatibility.
Purchase information. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment card details. We do receive confirmation of purchase status to unlock premium features.
3. How we use your information
We use your data to:
- Provide and personalise the virtual try-on and outfit recommendation features — this requires transmitting your photos and style preferences to third-party AI processing services (see Section 4)
- Process and display your wardrobe in the app
- Send transactional notifications (trial reminders, billing confirmations)
- Measure app performance and diagnose issues
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your photos for advertising or to train AI models. We do not share your data with any third party except as described in Section 4 (AI processing providers) and as required by law.
4. Third-party AI services and data sharing
What data we send to AI services. When you use TiCu's virtual try-on or outfit recommendation features, the following data is transmitted to third-party AI processing services: the photos you upload (wardrobe items, inspiration images, and try-on photos), and associated metadata such as garment descriptions and style preferences you have entered. We do not send your name, email address, or payment information to AI services.
Who receives your data. Your photos and style data are currently processed by Google (Gemini API), which powers TiCu's virtual try-on image generation. We may add or change AI processing providers in the future; we will update this policy and notify you in the app before doing so. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are required to: (a) process your data only on our instructions, (b) apply security standards equivalent to or greater than our own, and (c) never use your photos or personal data to train their AI models.
Your consent. By using the virtual try-on or outfit recommendation features, you consent to your photos and style data being transmitted to these AI processing services for the sole purpose of generating your results. You can withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of those features. Existing uploaded photos can be deleted from within the app.
TiCu also uses the following supporting third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google (Gemini API) — AI image processing for virtual try-on and outfit generation. Receives your face photo, body photo, and clothing item images. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel Analytics — anonymised web analytics for ticu.app (no personal data shared)
- Apple App Store & Google Play — subscription billing and in-app purchase validation
5. Data retention
We retain your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.
You can delete individual wardrobe items or uploaded photos at any time from within the app.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@ticu.app.
7. Children's privacy
TiCu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest to protect your data. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
