Mobile App Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 16, 2026

1. Overview

This Mobile App Privacy Policy supplements the TiCu Privacy Policy and provides additional detail specific to the TiCu iOS and Android app (“App”). It describes what data the App collects, what device permissions it requests, and how your photos are processed for the virtual try-on feature.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described here and in our full Privacy Policy.

2. Account and authentication

Creating an account is required to use the App. We collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, an Apple-provided anonymous identifier. Your email is used to authenticate you, send transactional messages (e.g. trial reminders), and respond to support requests.

We do not collect your Apple ID credentials. Apple Sign In authentication is handled entirely by Apple.

3. Device permissions

The App requests the following permissions. Each is optional unless noted — declining will disable the related feature but will not prevent you from using other parts of the App.

  • Camera. Used to photograph clothing items and to take body or face photos for virtual try-on. The camera is never accessed in the background and photos are not captured without your explicit action.
  • Photo library. Used to let you select existing photos from your device for wardrobe items or try-on. We access only the specific photos you select — we do not scan or index your full library.
  • Notifications. Used to send you outfit suggestions, trial reminders, and feature updates. You can manage or disable notifications at any time from the App’s notification settings or your device settings.

4. Photos and body data

The core feature of TiCu is virtual try-on — previewing how clothing from your wardrobe looks on your body. This requires you to upload two categories of photos:

  • Face photo. A photo of your face used to personalise the try-on preview.
  • Body photo. A full-length photo of your body used as the canvas for outfit overlay. Only upload a photo of yourself.
  • Clothing item photos. Photos of garments from your wardrobe used as the source clothing in the preview.

All three photo types are transmitted to Google (Gemini API) to generate your try-on image. You explicitly consent to this transmission during the onboarding flow before any photos are sent. TiCu may use other AI services in the future; we will update this policy and notify you in the App before any change.

Your photos are stored on TiCu’s secure servers and are used only to generate your personal outfit previews. They are never used for advertising, profiling, or to train AI models. You can delete individual photos or your entire account at any time from Profile → Settings.

You may also optionally provide body measurements (height, weight, and clothing sizes). These are stored in your profile and used only to improve outfit fit suggestions within the App.

5. Third-party AI processing — Google Gemini

When you use the virtual try-on feature, your face photo, body photo, and selected clothing images are sent to the Google Gemini API for image processing. Google processes this data as a data processor acting on TiCu’s instructions.

Google is contractually required not to use your data to train its models. For details on how Google handles API data, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms of Service.

No other personal data (such as your name, email, or payment information) is sent to Google.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

TiCu offers premium features through a subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation of your purchase status to unlock premium features.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual wardrobe items or photos at any time from within the App. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete all your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

To delete your account, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the App, or contact us at privacy@ticu.app.

8. Children's privacy

TiCu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest to protect your data, including your uploaded photos. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes — particularly changes to which AI services process your photos — we will notify you through the App or by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
